Need To Update That Old Toilet

Old toilets can be a real headache, causing all sorts of annoying and costly problems. One of the most common issues is leaking – a toilet that constantly runs or has water seeping from the base is not only annoying with that constant trickling sound, but it can waste a huge amount of water, increasing your water bill. Older toilets are also notorious water hogs, using way more water per flush than newer, more efficient models. If you have an old toilet, don’t be surprised if it uses 3 gallons or more with every flush – compare that to high-efficiency toilets that use 1.28 gallons or less!
Another unsightly issue with aging toilets is staining. Years of mineral buildup and rust can leave your once-gleaming porcelain bowl looking stained and dingy. Scrubbing and harsh chemical cleaners will only get you so far. At a certain point, it’s better to replace that old eyesore. While a new toilet may cost a bit up front, it will save you money in the long run and provide years of leak-free, low-flow, pristine flushing performance. So if your old toilet is causing you nothing but grief, it may be time for an upgrade.
